Virginia Furniture Manufacturer To Layoff 275 Workers

Vaughan Furniture announced that it will be closing it’s last plant in Galax, Virginia. 275 workers will lose their jobs. The furniture manufacturer stated that it will begin laying off workers in May.

Vaughan Furniture has been in business in Galax, Virginia since 1923. Bill Vaughan, company CEO, stated that the company could no longer compete with cheap imported products.

Workers will have a severance package available and will also be offered job counseling and assistance in finding new jobs.
