Slow But Steady Growth Expected For Office Furniture Industry

During the 1990s the office furniture industry saw a lot of growth. Much of the economy was changing from being driven by manufacturing to more of a focus on service related businesses. The need for customer service personnel led to both new office facilities and the expansion of existing ones.

During the first three years of the 21st century shipments of office furniture fell by more than 30%. This represented the biggest drop in furniture shipments for more than 20 years.

Currently, the market for office furniture has seen somewhat of a comeback. Sales are improving slowly and analysts are expecting a steady albeit slow increase in office furniture sales through 2010.
