Since the first of this month, the American Home Furnishings Alliance has been accepting applications to their Sage Award. The award honors business in the home furnishings and bedding industries for sustainability practices. All designers, retailers and manufacturers are eligible to submit an application to be honored by the award.
The applications must all be submitted by September 4, in order to be considered for this years award. The American Home Furnishings Alliance will be announcing three finalists from the nominations at the High Point Market this fall. The winner will receive the award on December 2, at the Sustainability Summit which is held in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The panel of judges will consist of experts in environmental and social organizations as well as members of the home furnishings industry. Judges will select the three finalists and then the winner through a blind evaluation of the applications which will have all of the companies names removed.
Anyone can apply for the award, even if you’re not a member of the AHFA. The goal of the award is to find real innovators in the industry that can teach other members of the industry. More information on the award and application process can be found at the AHFA website.
