A recent audit in North Carolina found that Office Depot had overcharged the states agencies by almost $300,000 during six months of 2007. Les Merritt, the state auditor reported that the charges were made from July until December.
According to the auditors office, this isn’t the first time that a state has had problems with the Florida based company. The Division of Purchase and Contract is in place to monitor state spending and should have been effective in catching the problem.
The Office Depot bill of course, got passed on to the states taxpayers. Office Depot supplies a wide selection of office products both in the United States and internationally.
