Meadowcraft Inc., a manufacturer of out door furniture, is consolidating two of their furniture manufacturing facilities into one.

The Birmingham, Alabama plant will no longer be used to manufacture furniture. All manufacturing activities will be centralized at the Wadley plant.

Meadowcraft has offered the 220 workers affected by the consolidation jobs at the Wadley plant.

Jerry Camp, President of Meadowcraft, said the move was needed to reduce the consumption of natural gas and to make the company sustainable.
