Having an ergonomic office means much more than just having ergonomic office furniture and accessories. You have to know how to take advantage of the ergonomic design in order for it to benefit your body.

Having a monitor arm isn’t going to prevent shoulder, neck or eye strain if you don’t adjust it correctly. Your monitor should be at eye level and you should be looking straight in front of you to see it, not tilting, raising or lowering your head.

Your ergonomic chair should be adjusted so that your feet sit flat on the floor. You should be able to get three of your fingers between the back of your knees and the chair. And, you backrest should be comfortably pressing against the curves of your back.

Ergonomically designed furniture is designed to make your job more comfortable and protect you from injuries and pain. But, the furniture can’t do it all by itself. You’ve got to help the furniture help you by making the proper adjustments!
