Hooker Furniture Plant In Virginia Hit By Fire

A Hooker Furniture plant in Martinsville, Virginia was damaged by a fire on Thursday.

A crew was disassembling some equipment so that it could be removed when sparks from a grinder ignited a fire. Workers were using the grinder to remove bolts when some of the sparks landed on some flammable residue on some spray booths.

The workers attempted to extinguish the fire themselves, but when they saw that the fire was getting out of hand they called the firefighters in to take care of it. Fortunately the damage caused by the fire was minimal.
