Edelstein’s Better Furniture Being Sold After 102 Years

Edelstein’s Better Furniture has been in operation in the Brownsville, Texas area since 1906.

This past Monday it has been announced that the furniture company is being sold to Famsa, Incorporated the U.S. division of a Mexico based company. The transfer of ownership is expected to be finalized by February 1, 2008.

Famsa has promised to keep most of the current employees, however they do plan on replacing all office staff positions.

The furniture company was founded by Morris Edelstein, an immigrant from Lithuania who sold his furniture products door to door.
