Avoid Back And Neck Pain In The Office

Posted by MCC on January 8th, 2008 at 08:58pm

If you spend a lot of time sitting in an office chair you may experience neck or lower back pain. This is because sitting in a chair in the same position for extended periods of time puts undue pressure on your neck, back, and even your shoulders and arms.

First off be sure that you are using an ergonomically designed chair that provides both comfort and lumbar support. Secondly, you should get up every half hour or so and just walk around a bit and stretch. This will help to get your blood circulating as well as to reduce the built up pressure on your back and neck.

Don’t let your chair lead to chronic pain and sore muscles. Use a properly adjusted chair and take a short break every now and then.
